Dans le vieux pays déchristianisé qu'est le Limousin il est bien rare de recueillir encore aujourd'hui des prières de tradition populaire. Aussi, c'est avec plaisir que nous sommes allés collecter auprès de Mme Denise Fayemendy à Oradour-sur-Vayres une belle patenôtre en occitan transmise dans sa famille et que son père tint à lui apprendre lorsqu’elle était enfant. Dans cette prière provenant de Vayres (87) sont associés les éléments du Pater et de l'erbadis (le verbe à Dieu, ). C'est d'un tout autre registre que nous a parlé ensuite abondamment son mari Joseph. Après une vie passée dans la menuiserie-scierie-fabrique de meubles familiale, ses anecdotes et récits sur l'exploitation du bois telle qu'elle se faisait au milieu du XXème siècle dans cet endroit du Limousin sont riches et nombreux. Et, naturellement, tout au long de la collecte il nous a brossé le portrait de quelques figures locales et livré des anecdotes sur le maquis et les tourmentes de la libération. Il s'agit de la seconde partie d'un enregistrement datant du 3 Octobre 1988 . Jean-Jacques Le Creurer nous précise que : " Armand JAGAILLE, tenait son accordéon comme un gaucher car il avait appris comme ça sur les conseils de sa s&oelig;ur ainée (qui ne jouait pas elle-même) qui lui avait ramené son premier accordéon de Paris où elle était bonne. Il a joué ensuite du chromatique et surtout du saxophone. C'est avec ce dernier instrument qu'il a fait nombre de bals dans divers orchestres et notamment avec son fils au chromatique (avec qui il formait l'orchestre Jagaille) . Cet enregistrement a été fait avec un technicien de France Bleu Creuse pour la cassette "musique en Creuse" éditée par l'ADIAM 23.". La chose étant assez rare, nous en avions pris bonne note et quelques mois plus tard, à l’automne 2022, nous sommes donc allés enregistrer Georges Farges chez lui, à Croisille de La Chapelle-Saint-Géraud, au sud de la Corrèze, dans l’ancien canton historique de Merc&oelig;ur.</div> <div>Dans ce parler de la Xaintrie qui hésite entre nord et sud-occitan, entre limousin et auvergnat, Georges Farges nous raconte une vie de labeur à la campagne, mais aussi une vie d’initiatives. En effet, il fut sans doute un des premiers entrepreneurs de travaux agricoles du Limousin, après avoir vu officier les machines en Picardie, notamment les épandeurs à fumier qui soulagèrent d’une corvée pénible et fastidieuse nombre de bras, bien souvent féminins. Dans cet entretien qu'il a accordé le 27 septembre 2006 à Jean-Christophe Dourdet, en compagnie de Jean-Pierre Cavaillé et Baptiste Chrétien, il nous parle entre autres du quartier des Ponts et de ses habitants, les Ponticauds, qu'il a bien connus avant-guerre et jusqu'aux années 1960, avant la métamorphose de ce très ancien et singulier quartier de Limoges. Il nous parle aussi de quelques figures limougeaudes, des restaurants et des fêtes qui animaient les bords de Vienne et de Briance. Maréchal-ferrant puis serrurier, André Ducher s'est investi dans nombres d'organisations et associations durant sa retraite. Il fut notamment chanteur et accordéoniste dans le groupe folklorique limougeaud l'Eglantino do Lemouzi. André Ducher est décédé en septembre 2012. La partie de l'entretien qui est présentée ici est en occitan, dans le parler de Limoges et de sa proche banlieue, parler qu'il est aujourd'hui bien rare d'entendre.
