<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Né en 1936 à Monestier-Merlines en Corrèze, en pays d’Eygurande, il se définit comme <em>« …Limosin mas que tira un pauc sob’ l’Auviarnha… »</em>. Ancien professeur de français, une fois à la retraite il se mettra à l’écriture, publiant une douzaine de romans en français, aux éditions de Borée, Lucien-Souny, etc. Locuteur natif de l’occitan, ses premiers textes dans cette langue se trouvent sous forme de nouvelles dans <em>A fònts mescladas</em>, une compilation de plusieurs auteurs parue en 1991 à l’<em>Ostal del libre</em>.</span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Il animera longtemps un atelier d’occitan à Lempdes, dans le Puy-de-Dôme, et c’est non loin de là, à Durtol où il réside, qu’il nous a parlé de sa vision de la langue, et bien sûr de son roman <em>La Manifestacion</em>, seul roman corrézien écrit en occitan, et paru lui-aussi à l’<em>Ostal del libre</em>, en 1999.</span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;"><strong><em>Francés Conheràs</em></strong> fut également la cheville ouvrière de l’ouvrage collectif publié en 2006 par l’association <a href="https://www.icoranda.fr/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em><strong>Icoranda</strong></em></a> aux éditions Écritures, <em>Le parler (ou patois) du pays d’Eygurande</em>. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Lors d’une collecte à l’EHPAD des Fontaines à Tulle en avril 2017, nous avions été séduits par la personnalité de<strong> Léon Picard</strong> qui y séjournait alors pour un temps. </span>
<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Quelques mois plus tard, lors d’une enquête en Corrèze, avec<strong> Pascal Boudy </strong>et<strong> Jean-François Vignaud</strong> nous lui avons rendu visite chez lui, à Tulle, comme il nous y avait invités, <em>per çò que, ço-disset : « Ai de las causas a vos contar… »</em>.</span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Né en 1923 à Meyrignac-l’Église, en Corrèze, réfractaire au STO, il rejoint le </span><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Maquis</span><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;"> en 1943.</span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Ses parents n’étant que fermiers, il ne souhaite pas prendre leur succession et intègre les rangs de la Gendarmerie nationale après la Libération. Après plusieurs mois en Indochine, de 1946 à 1949, il quitte la Gendarmerie à 38 ans. Il finira sa vie professionnelle au Sénat, en tant que responsable du service automobile du Palais du Luxembourg. </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Et une fois à la retraite, il revient au pays, comme de nombreux Corréziens.</span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Dans cet enregistrement, <strong>Léon Picard</strong> nous livre un témoignage rare, tout en retenue, sur la Résistance, mais aussi à propos de la Guerre d’Indochine, d’où il est revenu avec la douloureuse sensation d’avoir, dit-il, « changé de camp ».</span></div>
