Au-delà de cette évidence, il en vient une autre, parmi les plus beaux paniers d'éclisses de châtaignier faits en Limousin, ceux de Maurice Javelaud tenaient bonne place. Par centaines, paniers e deschas (panières) sont nés de l'alliance de ses doigts et du couteau. D'un savoir-faire acquis auprès de son père durant ses jeunes années il développa une véritable activité vannière une fois à la retraite. Qui, dans ce petit coin du Limousin, ne l'a pas rencontré derrière son banc de paniers dans toutes les fêtes artisanales du pays ? C'est dans son village de Bournazeau (commune d'Oradour-sur-Vayres) où il a toujours vécu que nous avons rencontré Maurice au printemps 2009. Au cours de deux après-midi, nous avons suivi les étapes de fabrication d'un panier dans l'obscurité de la vieille maison qui lui servait d'atelier. Les explications sont souvent succinctes, parfois sibyllines "Qu'es mas mesuras a me !"... Président du groupe folklorique « Los velhadors de Sent-Junian », Robert Dagnas a parcouru durant les années 1950-1960 les routes du Limousin, armé de son magnétophone, à la recherche de chanteurs, conteurs et musiciens du pays. Il animait, grâce à ces enregistrements, une émission hebdomadaire à « Radio Limoges ». Il eut ainsi l’occasion d’interroger et enregistrer à plusieurs reprises, une voisine à lui, Angèle Chabeaudie, qui devint rapidement une vedette de son émission. Sa gentillesse, son humour et son remarquable répertoire de chansons ont ravi les oreilles des auditeurs et de nombreux Saint-Juniauds gardent encore en mémoire cette personnalité chaleureuse. Cette première partie comprend des enregistrements effectués par Robert Dagnas auprès d'Angèle Chabeaudie au début des années 1960 (Bandes 567-568-569 et 462). Président du groupe folklorique « Los velhadors de Sent-Junian », Robert Dagnas a parcouru durant les années 1950-1960 les routes du Limousin, armé de son magnétophone, à la recherche de chanteurs, conteurs et musiciens du pays. Il animait, grâce à ces enregistrements, une émission hebdomadaire à « Radio Limoges ». Il eut ainsi l’occasion d’interroger et enregistrer à plusieurs reprises une voisine à lui, Angèle Chabeaudie, qui devint rapidement une vedette de son émission. Sa gentillesse, son humour et son remarquable répertoire de chansons ont ravi les oreilles des auditeurs et de nombreux Saint-Juniauds gardent encore en mémoire cette personnalité chaleureuse. En quête d'informateurs lors de l'enquête sur le thème de l'eau en montagne limousine, on nous avait à plusieurs reprises dirigé vers M. Aimé Delpastre. Très occupé par ses activités agricoles il a aimablement accepté de nous recevoir en ce printemps et de nous consacrer un peu de temps. Bien qu'habitant hors de la zone concernée par cette enquête, nous l'avons interrogé sur les levades, le moulin, l'exploitation de la tourbe, la langue... M.
